Iniko and Mom, Redwood Queen - California Condors - watercolor and ink artwork of Mom and chick Condors living in their 1000 year old Redwood nest tree in Big Sur, California. Redwood trees are often used by the Condors for their nests. Both male and female Condors are very affectionate with and like to cuddle with their young chicks. Both parents are active in sharing the duties of taking care of the egg and chick. Condors have a wing span of 9-10’ and are endangered in the wild. These two are part of the Ventana Wildlife Society rehabilitation program. Inspired by nest cam photo on June 26.

Cynthia Sorensen has been an artist and a ballet dancer for the past 25 years. She has shown her paintings in numerous art galleries and interior design stores throughout the Los Angeles and Ventura County areas of Southern California. She has had many one-person art shows and has been a member of various artists' associations. She has also donated paintings to many charitable fund-raising events, including The Boys & Girls Club, AIDS and ballet company auctions. Cynthia has first-hand knowledge of the ballet world through her own dancing which is the inspiration for her ballet art work.
