Tiaki, the New Zealand Royal Cam Albatross chick of the year 2021 during her 8 months of growing up on the southern tip of New Zealand. It is an area used by many Albatross for nesting their chicks. The chicks love to work on their own nests and do gardening when growing up while waiting for their parents to fly in with a food delivery. Pretty Tiaki did excellently during her time of growing and fledged in September, beginning her trek across the Southern end of the Pacific Ocean. Her amazing wing span is approximately 10-11’ across! So this is a very large bird. For perspective, it’s size here in this painting is about the size of the upper body of a very large man.

Cynthia Sorensen has been an artist and a ballet dancer for the past 25 years. She has shown her paintings in numerous art galleries and interior design stores throughout the Los Angeles and Ventura County areas of Southern California. She has had many one-person art shows and has been a member of various artists' associations. She has also donated paintings to many charitable fund-raising events, including The Boys & Girls Club, AIDS and ballet company auctions. Cynthia has first-hand knowledge of the ballet world through her own dancing which is the inspiration for her ballet art work.
